2. Data we collect

• Sign-up data: email address, username, password (hashed).
• Profile and content data: avatars, posts, comments, reactions.
• Technical data: device identifier, connection logs, IP addresses.
• Notifications: identifiers required for push services (Expo, APNs, FCM).
• Browsing data: via Google Analytics 4 on the charlieverse.app website.

3. Purposes of processing

• Provide the services of the App (account, posts, interactions).
• Maintain security and community moderation (Trust-O-Meter, reports).
• Improve user experience and app performance.
• Send notifications related to the user’s activity (if enabled).
• Analyse traffic and usage of the website.

4. Legal bases

• Performance of the contract: managing user accounts and app features.
• Legitimate interest: security, abuse prevention, service improvement.
• Consent: push notifications and analytics cookies.

5. Data relating to minors

Registration is only available to individuals who are 13 years old or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

6. Recipients of the data

We never sell your data. It may only be shared with our technical providers: AWS (Europe), Expo, Apple (APNs), Google (FCM), Google Analytics 4.

7. Transfers outside the European Union

Some processors (Apple, Google, Expo) may process data outside the EU. These transfers are governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.

8. Data retention periods

• Account data: for as long as the account is active.
• Content data: deleted when the account is deleted.
• Technical logs: stored for up to 12 months.
• GA4 data: up to 14 months.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

10. Security

All communications are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed and salted. Community and automated moderation mechanisms are in place to reduce abuse.

11. Cookies

The website uses Google Analytics 4, which relies on analytics cookies. You can accept or refuse these cookies via the banner displayed on your first visit.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date of the latest revision is shown at the top of this document.

13. Account deletion
